At about 5:44pm Wednesday, Turlock Police responded to a disturbance in progress at Quaile Rand Norton Park in the 500 block of S. Berkeley Avenue.

The caller reported a drunk man was causing a disturbance and trying to throw a garbage can at him. He also stated that the man had a knife, but couldn’t describe the type or location.

Officers arrived on scene and contacted the caller, who pointed out Rolando Rodriguez, 46, of Turlock.

Rodriguez was sleeping on a bench by the playground.

Officers contacted Rodriguez and woke him up. Rodriguez was obviously way too intoxicated and unable to care for himself. Rodriguez was slurring his words and unable to hold himself up.

Rodriguez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of disorderly conduct.
