At about 9:29pm Saturday, Turlock Police responded to a dangerous driver at Lander Avenue and W. F Street.
The caller reported they were following a vehicle that was swerving all over the roadway and nearly hit a stop sign at one point.
Officer Nunez located the vehicle at Central Park in the 100 block of S. Golden State Boulevard and made a traffic stop.
Nunez made contact with and identified the vehicle’s driver as Dario Casco, 36, of Turlock.
Casco displayed objective symptoms of driving under the influence, so Nunez asked him if he’d be willing to participate in standardized field sobriety tests. Casco agreed and completed the tests.
Based on the totality of the circumstances, Nunez determined Casco was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him.
Casco chose to provide two breath samples at the scene to fulfill his chemical test requirement.
During an inventory of Casco’s vehicle, Officer Arroyo located open and consumed alcohol bottles.
Casco was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of driving under the influence.
Additionally, Casco was issued a driver’s license suspension order and his vehicle was towed.
