Armed Juvenile Probationer Arrested After Fleeing Police in Handcuffs

At about 10:10pm Wednesday, Turlock Police arrived at a residence in the 500 block of Wolfe Avenue to conduct a probation search.

A 16-year-old boy on searchable juvenile probation had streamed himself on Instagram Live in possession of a firearm.

The boy was immediately detained in handcuffs while officers searched his residence.

When officers located the boy’s 9mm Glock 17 handgun, he ran away on foot while wearing handcuffs and an ankle monitor.

Officers quickly established a perimeter, launched a drone, and requested the sheriff’s airplane.

A few minutes later, an officer relocated the boy and returned him to the scene.

The boy was arrested and booked into Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall on charges of possession of a firearm by a ward of the juvenile court, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a handgun by a minor, possession of live ammunition by a minor, and resisting a peace officer.
