At about 5:05pm Thursday, Turlock Fire, Modesto Fire, Stanislaus Regional Fire Investigation Unit, Turlock Police, and American Medical Response responded to a working structure fire at a residence in the 1600 block of Joett Drive.
A fire investigator was nearby and arrived on scene within two minutes of the call, finding a fully involved garage and vehicle fire with extension into the house.
Two people were initially also unaccounted for with others going in to try to get them, but they were able to make it out safely.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they found heavy fire conditions in the single-story single-family dwelling.
Firefighters immediately began fire attack in the offensive strategy, bringing the fire under control within half an hour.
Crews remained on scene for an extended period of time conducting investigation, overhaul, salvage, and other post-fire activities.
The Turlock Irrigation District and Pacific Gas and Electric Company also responded to the scene to secure utilities, while Modesto Fire provided city coverage for the duration of the incident.
Two occupants and a firefighter were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Seven occupants were displaced as a result of the fire and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
