At about 2:55pm Tuesday, Turlock Police responded to a weapon offense that had just occurred at Mario’s Authentic Tacos in the 200 block of N. Golden State Boulevard.
Passerby’s reported there’d been a fight involving several subjects, which ended with a gunshot being heard.
As officers began to arrive at Mario’s, they learned that three juveniles had gone into Balswick Quick Smog across the street, one of whom had a gunshot wound. The three were trying to hide in a closet and were uncooperative.
Turlock Fire and American Medical Response arrived on scene, transporting the victim to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the incident was a drive-by shooting and the shot had been fired by an unknown occupant of a vehicle that had been last seen northbound on Golden State.
“The incident is likely gang-related,” said Sergeant Cervantez.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information that could assist is encouraged to call Officer Dustin Ferreira at 209-668-6576.
