At about 10:23am Wednesday morning, Turlock Police arrived at a residence in the 900 block of Cole Avenue to conduct follow-up in a juvenile molestation case.

Detectives had previously received a CyberTip regarding child pornography distribution. The tip was investigated by Detective Giovacchini which led to her identifying John Snoke, 42, of Turlock, as who had uploaded the images to an internet-based application.

Snoke was contacted during the service of a search warrant at his residence and taken to the Turlock Public Safety Facility for questioning.

During the search, detectives located additional electronic devices that they seized to be processed for further evidence.

Following the interview, Snoke was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of child pornography and distributing child pornography.

Additional charges may later be added if detectives uncover more evidence in the seized electronic devices.

Snoke currently works as a campus supervisor for the Turlock Unified School District. According to a TUSD social media post from 2020, he was assigned to Medeiros Elementary School at the time, but it’s unclear if that’s changed since. He also currently serves on the City of Turlock Parks, Arts, and Recreation Commission, with his term expiring in December 2025.

“We are leveraging technology and working hard to stop child exploitation in Turlock,” said Detective Giovacchini. “Keeping children safe is my number one priority.”
