On Monday, June 12th, 2023, at 3:33 pm, the Turlock Fire Department and California Highway Patrol were dispatched to a reported vehicle fire southbound State Route 99 just south of W Monte Vista Ave, Turlock.

When crews arrived on scene, they found a small 10-foot utility trailer with a lawnmower on it on fire. The trailer had been detached from the pickup truck that had been towing it prior to the fire spreading to it.

Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control and extinguish it shortly thereafter.

The fire backed traffic up a decent amount due to people slowing down to see what was going on.

No injuries were reported.

The cause and origin of the fire are currently unknown.
