Man arrested on felony warrant for public war crime Thursday night

|

On Thursday, April 20th, 2023, at 10:38 pm, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of W Linwood Ave and S Kilroy Rd, Turlock, observed a driver violate the California Vehicle Code, so he made a traffic stop on him.

The officer made contact with and identified the vehicle’s three occupants, including driver Jose Teixeira, 29, of Turlock.

When the officer had his dispatcher run Teixeira, he discovered that he had a $20,000 felony bench warrant out of Tuolumne County for failure to appear on what was described as a “public war crime”.

Teixeira was arrested and a search of his rental truck incident to arrest led to the discovery of two motorcycles in the back.

One motorcycle was cold-plated, meaning it had the license plate of a different motorcycle on it, while the other didn’t have any license plate on it. The cold-plated motorcycle’s VIN ended up returning clear, however, the other motorcycle’s VIN was returning with a weird hit on a similar stolen motorcycle. Due to the motorcycle being made before 1981 and not conforming to current VIN standards, it’s almost impossible to determine if it’s actually stolen or not.

Teixeira was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrant, while his two passengers were released. Additionally, Teixeira’s rental truck was impounded with the two motorcycles in it.
