On Monday, September 19th, 2022, at 11:03 pm, the Turlock Fire Department was dispatched to a reported fire behind Goodwill, 749 N Golden State Blvd, Turlock.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they found a man later identified as Robert Dominguez, 46, of Turlock, sitting on a couch behind the business with his dog.

Security was able to provide firefighters with video of Dominguez setting cardboard on fire between the couch he was sitting on and the structure. Firefighters checked the cardboard and found that it was still smoldering. They were able to put the fire out.

The Turlock Police Department responded to investigate and ultimately arrested Dominguez.

Dominguez was released on a citation on charges of unlawfully causing a fire.
