Man arrested on felony domestic violence warrant after leg bailing from vehicle during traffic stop Saturday night

On Saturday, July 16th, 2022, at 11:27 pm, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of Grant Ave and Park St, Turlock, observed a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so he made a traffic stop on it.

When the vehicle stopped, a man later identified as Randall McCartney, 35, of Turlock, immediately leg bailed from the vehicle and began running westbound on Park St.

A foot pursuit ensued which lasted less than a minute and McCartney being caught.

When officers had their dispatcher run McCartney, he returned with a felony warrant for domestic violence inflicting corporal injury.

Ultimately, McCartney was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of resisting a peace officer as well as his warrant.
