On Saturday, May 7th, 2022, at 3:02 pm, a Turlock Police officer near Fast Stop Liquor, 301 W Canal Dr, Turlock, ran a license plate on a vehicle and the vehicle returned stolen, so he conducted a high risk stop on it.
The vehicle’s driver, Esequiel Espinosa, 55, of Modesto, who was its only occupant, was pulled out at gunpoint and detained without further incident.
A brief investigation was conducted and it confirmed that the vehicle was indeed stolen. Additionally, Espoinosa returned with a felony warrant for joyriding and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Espinosa was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrant and charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a tear gas weapon, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The stolen vehicle was returned back to its rightful owner.
