On Friday, November 27th, 2020, at approximately 2:35 pm, the Turlock Fire Department received a call of a working structure fire in the 1200 block of Burman Dr. Battalion 4, Engine 31, Squad 32, Engine 33, and Engine 34 were originally dispatched as well as a Battalion Chief and Engine from a resource sharing agreement from a neighboring agency.
A Modesto Fire Division Chief who was off-duty and resided in the area heard the call and also responded. He was the first on scene and reported heavy smoke coming from the garage and stated it was possibly a vehicle fire. Battalion 4 arrived on scene two minutes later and assumed command in the offensive strategy. Due to the structure not being involved, Squad 32, Engine 34, and any resource sharing agreement units were cancelled at this time.
An ambulance was requested for one of the residents, who had evacuated, due to an unknown medical issue. Suppression units began arriving on scene and began fire attack. The fire was quickly put out and contained to the vehicle with no damage to anything else. Pacific Gas and Electric also responded to secure utilities.
A short while after the fire was put out, command was terminated and all fire units went clear and available.
