The victim, a 70 year old male from Turlock, was walking in the crosswalk at the intersection of N. Olive and Wayside, in steady rain, when he was struck by a Honda Pilot, driven by a 44 year old female from Modesto. The victim sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital but died.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigating officers. The name of the victim is being withheld, pending notification of family.
