The Turlock Fire Department is looking to the community to be nominated to receive one of two $25,000 grants. These grants, to be awarded by Nest and the Leary Firefighters Foundation, will cover new technology and equipment for fire departments.

To qualify for the grants, departments must be nominated by members of their community. The ten departments with the highest number of nominations will become finalists, and from there, two departments in need will receive a grant.

Nominations for the Turlock Fire Department will be accepted on Nest.com and can be made from until Oct. 31 at midnight.
