Fifth Annual KCSS Bandstand to Feature 17 Artists in Turlock May 9

KCSS 91.9 FM, California State University, Stanislaus’ student-run radio station, will host the fifth annual Bandstand concert on May 9 at the Grizzly Rock Café in Turlock.

The Bandstand is a one-night music festival, showcasing local musicians from Turlock and the surrounding areas. Three stages will be set up, two on the patio and one in the bar, with local artists of all genres. Admission is free.

The Bandstand has brought hundreds of guests to the Grizzly Rock Café in past years, and this year is expected to be the same.

Live performances will begin at 5 p.m. and continue to midnight. This year’s Bandstand will feature 17 local artists and bands including Bonnie and the Bang Bang, Mourning Mountains, Pacific Lung, Seanario, Mattéa Overstreet, Matt Walker, Kyle Petty, Michael White, and The Airlings.

New this year, from 2 to 4 p.m., art students from CSU Stanislaus will have art on display, with local solo artist Maricela accompanying the artists.

The event is free, but KCSS will be accepting donations that help fund the student-run radio station.

This year’s event will also serve as the release event of the KCSS Compilation Album, which features 35 songs from 35 different artists from across the Central Valley.
