The Stanislaus County Auto Theft Task Force (StanCATT) released several arrest reports from the last month on Wednesday, which includes two incidents from Turlock.
On March 26, Menmohan Singh Dhillon, 35, was arrested for auto theft and possession of a stolen vehicle.
StanCATT officers found a Chrysler 300, that had been reported stolen out of LIvingston earlier in March, parked in a parking lot of a motel on Glenwood Avenue in Turlock.
Officers watched Dhillon unlock the vehicle and get in as he was going to leave, but then the suspect got out of the vehicle and walked to a nearby store, reports StanCATT.
With assistance of the Turlock Police Department, officers entered the store and were able to take Dhillon into custody without incident.
A few days later, on March 30, Ashley Juanita Castillo, 26, was also arrested for auto theft and possession of a stolen automobile.
StanCATT officers located a white Honda Civic that had been reported stolen out of Turlock two days prior. The vehicle was spotted traveling in Turlock and had just entered southbound Highway 99.
Officers followed the vehicle until it eventually entered Turlock again and pulled it over in the 1800 block of Lander Avenue.
The vehicle was occupied by four adults, including Castillo, who was driving. Castillo was arrested without incident, while the other four were detained but later released.
