The Turlock Public Library will offer crafts for all ages, a community book club event, and a LEGO playday for children and their families, all during during the month of January.
On Jan. 6, children will learn how to make a “Frosty Puppet Pal.” The library will supply paper bags and assorted craft materials for crafters to use to personalize their puppets. This winter craft, which will be begin at 4 p.m., is sponsored by the Friends of the Turlock Library.
The Turlock Library Book Club will meet on Jan. 7 at 10:30 a.m. to discuss Turn of Mind by Alice LaPlante. Book clubs at the library provide community members the opportunity to enrich their understanding and enjoyment of books through meaningful discussion.

On Jan. 13, all ages can participate in the library’s Craft-a-Palooza, which is sponsored by the Friends of the Turlock Library, at 4 p.m. Crafters can choose from a variety of craft materials to create unique works of art.
Children, tweens and teens can take part in a Sock-topus Craft on Jan. 20 at 4 p.m. Participants will learn how to turn knee socks into colorful octopuses. A limited number of knee socks will be available to use; crafters are encouraged to bring knee socks of any color or design to personalize their octopuses. The Sock- topus craft is sponsored by the Friends of the Turlock Library.
Finally, on Jan. 27, children and their families can visit the library at 3:30 p.m. to build LEGO displays for the public library. LEGO play encourages creativity and fine motor development in children of all ages. All ages are welcome, but children under 4 must have direct parental supervision. LEGO programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Turlock Library.
