Today is the first full day of the fall season! Yesterday at 7:29 p.m. the autumnal equinox brought the sun’s ray directly upon the Earth’s equator.
You may have noticed some leaves are starting to drop from trees and a slight chill early in the a.m. hours, and of course the brief rainfall Saturday night.
Another sign of fall is the oncoming cooler weather. Tuesday and Wednesday temperatures are expected to reach the low 90s, however on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday the mercury is only expected to reach the low to mid 80s. Yes, that is right, 80s! No rainfall is expected, but winds are expected to be constant between 10 and 15 mph.
Turn off that A/C, open up the windows and let the fall celebrations begin.
For those looking to get one more weekend of summer fun in, Broadway and Columbia Aquatic Parks will remain open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. until Sept. 30.
