Fulkerth and Tuolumne roads are currently blocked by a train at Golden State Boulevard.
According Turlock police spokesperson Sgt. Russ Holeman, a bicyclist was hit by a train at the Fulkerth Road and Golden State Boulevard railroad crossing.
The bicyclist was traveling westbound on Fulkerth Road in the eastbound lanes at approximately 10:41 a.m. and attempted to make it through the crossing before the train, said Holeman. The crossing arms were allegedly already down when the cyclist made it to the railroad crossing.
The train stopped as soon as it could, and is now blocking Tuolumne Road railroad crossing.
The victim has been declared deceased, but has not been identified.
Holeman said the train is expected to be blocking the intersections for approximately 90 minutes and due to the Stanislaus County Fair opening at noon, drivers are advised to avoid the area.
Turlock Police Department is on scene investigating the collision.
