The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department has reported that a 12 year-old boy died last night in Turlock after being struck by a train in the 2000 Block of Paulson Road.
“Sheriff’s deputies and the fire department arrived on scene at about 9pm (on Tuesday) and found that the train had already stopped and a search was conducted,” Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sgt. Anthony Bejaran stated in a press release. “The body of the 12 year-old boy was found under the train and had sustained multiple injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
An investigation into the child’s death is being conducted and at this time there does not appear to be any signs of negligence or foul play, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
The identity of the boy has not been released.
