Turlock Associated Police Officers (TAPO) hosted a meet and greet on Oct. 8 to connect the members of the union with two of the candidates who have been endorsed by the political action committee (PAC) for the upcoming November election.

Mayoral candidate Gary Soiseth and City Council candidate Matthew Jacob were in attendance as TAPO members talked about their plans to build a safer Turlock and strategized how the PAC can further support their campaigns.

“It was great to connect our members with these candidates who have a clear commitment to our shared vision for a safer Turlock,” said Russell Holeman, President of TAPO. “I am confident that our endorsed candidates Mr. Soiseth, Mr. DeHart and Mr. Jacob will be tireless advocates for public safety in our city government, and TAPO is proud to be a supportive voice for their campaigns."

Incumbent Councilman Bill DeHart has also been endorsed by the TAPO PAC, but could not attend the meet and greet event.

The TAPO PAC endorsed candidates who demonstrated a commitment to the safety of the Turlock community. TAPO’s endorsement means that candidates may use the PAC’s name during the campaign on fliers, mailers, and in public statements.

TAPO, which currently has approximately $10,000 contributed to the PAC, may also make financial contributions to each endorsed candidate, as well as independent expenditures for each. However, at this time, the PAC has not reported any contributions made to candidates.
