On Sunday night, the Turlock Fire Department responded to a 911 call reporting a fire in the 200 block of Vermont Avenue. Turlock firefighters arrived to visible smoke and flames coming from a second story bedroom window.

On Thursday, December 6th, at approximately 4pm, the Turlock Police Department Investigators arrested 34-year old Eduardo Arellano Sanchez for Sodomy, Oral Copulation, Continued Sexual Abuse, and other Child Molestation Charges.

Yesterday, at approximately 9am, the Turlock Fire Department responded to a fire at a four-plex of condominiums, located on Niagra Street. An elderly woman escaped her burning apartment without injury.

In February earlier this year, the Stanislaus Animal Services Agency received a call regarding a property at 9501 S. Carpenter Road, just west of Turlock, where an estimated 50,000 abandoned chickens were left without being fed for approximately 2 weeks. An estimated 17,000 chickens were found dead upon arrival.

On Tuesday evening, December 11, 2012, newly elected Steven Nascimento and reelected Councilwoman Amy Bublak were sworn in by the City of Turlock and took their seat as Council Members on the Turlock City Council.

U.S. Representative Jeff Denham (R-Turlock) today announced that his waiver request to serve on the House Committee on Veterans Affairs during the 113th Congress has been granted.

Turlock Animals Services was set to euthanize Turlock resident Dan Mendonca's beloved Alaskan Malamute, “Bolt”, today after the City of Turlock determined the dog to be "vicious and a public nuisance”, having two separate incidents come forth involving the dog biting two women. City Manager Roy Wasden reviewed the determination made by City Staff and sentenced Bolt to death. A speedy Stanislaus Superior Court hearing was scheduled for Monday morning in an attempt to save Bolt.
