New Olsen Bill Wants Panic Alarms at Schools

State Assemblymember Kristen Olsen (R-Modesto) announced a new bill Friday which would install panic buttons in every regularly used classroom in California.
SAN DIEGO – The Turlock Express were within inches of knocking off the defending Professional Arena Soccer League Champion San Diego Sockers on Saturday night, in a divisional playoff matchup.
Emanuel Medical Center has reached an agreement to be sold, hospital officials announced Thursday. Tenet Healthcare Corporation, a Dallas-based investor-owned healthcare company, will purchase Turlock's only hospital. The purchase price was not disclosed, but the sale will see Tenet own the hospital “outright,” according to Jeff Koury, senior vice president for Tenet’s California region.

Emanuel Medical Center Sold to Tenet Healthcare

Emanuel Medical Center has reached an agreement to be sold, hospital officials announced today. Tenet Healthcare Corporation, a Dallas-based investor-owned healthcare company, will purchase Turlock's only hospital. The purchase price was not disclosed.
The time to “wait and hope” for a fix to Turlock's tattered roadways is over, Mayor John Lazar said Wednesday during his State of the City address. Turlock must take matters into its own hands, Lazar said, pursuing a ballot measure for a new tax dedicated to road maintenance.

No Site for Queen Shamiram Statue, Yet

A newly-formed site search committee will seek a permanent home for a donated sculpture of Queen Shamiram, accepted by the Turlock City Arts Commission in January.
The playoffs await for Turlock's only professional sports team. This weekend, the Turlock Express will face off with the San Diego Sockers in their quest for the Ron Newman Cup – the grand prize of the top-tier Professional Arena Soccer League.
