At 5:37 a.m., Charter verified an outage in cable, telephone, and internet services throughout the Central Valley, mostly in Stanislaus County. Charter’s Director of Northwest Communications Bret Picciolo verified outages in the Turlock, Escalon, and Riverbank areas.
Commenters on TurlockCityNews.com’s Facebook further specified that they were experiencing service outages in Ceres and Ripon, while CentralValleyTV commenters acknowledged that outages were being experienced in Modesto, Salida, Delhi, and Denair.
Many people saying that they are Charter customers were commenting about having to use so much of their cell phone data and asking for refunds from Charter.
The service disruption to residents was caused by damage to fiber optic lines.
In June of this year, a damaged fiber optic line affected the Turlock, Riverbank, and Escalon areas and left residents without their Charter services for several hours.
Today, Charter did not originally have an estimated time for resolution, however, residents in Turlock started getting their Charter services operational by approximately 3 p.m. Commenters have also acknowledged that their service is again operational in Ceres.
This morning’s service disruption lasted approximately 9.5 hours.
