Turlock Police Arrest Church Volunteer for Sexual Abuse of Children

Eduardo Arellano Sanchez On Thursday, December 6th, at approximately 4pm, the Turlock Police Department Investigators arrested 34-year old Eduardo Arellano Sanchez for Sodomy, Oral Copulation, Continued Sexual Abuse, and other Child Molestation Charges.

Sanchez, a volunteer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock, is currently being held at the Stanislaus County Jail with two felony counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child, code PC 288.5 (A).

The incident was reported after a priest became concerned of increased attention being given to a juvenile member of the church. Based on his suspicion, the priest spoke to the juvenile who admitted he had been a victim of ongoing and continuous sexual abuse by Sanchez.

The priest mentioned being aware of a possible second juvenile, he had observed being given similar attention to, by Sanchez. The second victim also disclosed having been sexually abused by Sanchez.

With the cooperation of one of the victims, Sanchez was taken into custody. The investigation did not reveal that any of the incidents occurred on church grounds or during church sponsored functions.

Sanchez, who’s pretrial hearing is to be held on February 1st, 2013, at the Stanislaus County Superior Court, currently has a bail amount set at $500,000.
