While this is Olsen’s second term in the State Assembly, it is her first time serving the newly drawn 12th Assembly District.

Assemblywoman Elect Kristin Olsen has stated that she will continue to focus on reforming government in ways that will help California restore its ‘Golden-State’ reputation.

“First, I will work to improve our economy by seeking to reduce regulations to encourage business growth and job creation,” stated Olsen. “Our state government must create an environment that allows businesses to grow and create jobs for the hardworking taxpayers who call California home.”

Her top three priorities include jobs and the economy, governance reform, and educational excellence.

“We must improve our state’s public schools by giving local school districts more control and flexibility,” she stated. “California students deserve a top-tier education and they are not getting it today.”

Olsen also previously served on the Modesto City Council.

“My record of bipartisanship, combined with my commitment to the hardworking taxpayers of the Central Valley makes me uniquely qualified to serve the residents of Assembly District 12.”

Both Denham and Olsen were celebrating at the Fat Cat Music House and Lounge in Modesto with other local area Republicans. Turlock City Councilwoman Amy Bublak, who was reelected to the Council last night, also joined them to show her support for both candidates as well as to celebrate another successful election of her own.
