Traffic Advisory: Highway 99 Vehicle Accident, Big Rig Fire Causes Golden State Jam

A vehicle collision involving a big rig traveling northbound on Highway 99 has caused a massive traffic jam, slowing the highway in both directions and backing-up Golden State Boulevard in Turlock.

The big rig caught fire after the collision.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision involved a vehicle and the big rig at about 4:50 p.m. No further information was immediately released.

As of 6:15 p.m., traffic was still backed-up on Highway 99 and Golden State Boulevard, from Highway 99 to S. Berkeley Avenue.

I drove by this accident around 5:15 P.M. and the other vehicle looked like a white 00-06 GMC regular cab truck and it was absolutely destroyed. I hope the driver survived but it was pretty bad.

The Modesto Bee report says only minor injuries for all parties involved. I too passed it just as the firecrew got the grass fire out and I can't believe no one was killed...

I always thought when are they going to put cement barriers to avoid a crossover accidents from occurring,hope fully they will now

I always thought when are they going to put cement barriers to avoid a crossover accidents from occurring,hope fully they will now
