During the month of October, the Turlock Firefighters went pink. After a month of selling pink t-shirts and fundraising for Breast Cancer Awareness, Captain Frank Saldivar announced that they had raised more than $18,000 for the Emanuel Cancer Center.
On November 1st, 2012, Emanuel Medical Center eliminated 24 positions, 17 of which were full time.

Former Turlock City Council Member Billy A. Wallen, born on January 14th, 1944, passed away earlier this week, at the age of 68. Wallen was married to Joan Kleiber Wallen, father to Ellen and Greg, and grandfather to Anthony, Rebekah, and Nathaniel.
