The Turlock Unified School District Board of Trustees will be holding a meeting to discuss the approval of the Technology Network Upgrade Project, various donations to school activities and the TUSD farm, out-of-state trips, and adopt a resolution to support Red Ribbon Week.

At 6 p.m., opening business will begin with the public meeting being called to order. Afterward, the Board will have convene in a closed session until 6:30 p.m.

Wakefield students Fernando Bazan and Breanna Moreno will be presented the Character Counts Award under the “cooperative” category. Bazan will provide the inspiration component for the meeting, and Moreno has been given the duty of leading the flag salute.

Four donations toward the Turlock High School Girls’ Golf Team, Speech and Debate team, Athletic Trainer, and Future Farmers of America, respectively, are recommended for acceptance, and the TUSD Farm is scheduled to receive six donations for structural maintenance and improvements.

Should the district adopt the Red Ribbon Week program, the district would purchase 14,000 wristbands for students to wear and provide activities that bring awareness to the dangers of substance use. The amount spent for wristbands and incentives will not exceed $1,500.

The TUSD Board meeting will be in the Professional Development Center at 1100 Cahill Ave. This meeting is projected to adjourn at 8:45 p.m.
