Farm House, a local downtown business, is seeking the community's help in finding their missing windmill “mascot.” Noticeable for its unique presence outside Farm House and its placement on the business’s Facebook profile photo, the windmill acts as a mascot for the downtown business. However, after being left out overnight, their mascot is no longer there. 
The rivalry between the Turlock High School Bulldogs and Pitman High School Pride will be heating up as the culinary action spills to the outside for a battle of barbeque in this year’s Iron Chef competition. Pride and Bulldogs will have one hour to prepare three meals for five judges in the 4th edition of the annual contest. However, as with previous years, the challenge in Turlock’s iteration of Iron Chef, an event and fundraiser put on by Turlock Education Foundation, continues to evolve.
Construction of a new downtown commercial building for the relocation of Malek Chiropractic was recently completed to replace the burned down Red Steer Restaurant, and someone already tried to burglarize the business. The burglary occurred at approximately 3:45 a.m. on Apr. 19, when a man broke the glass on the front door of the commercial building located on the 200 block of Golden State Boulevard, according to Turlock Police Department Spokesman Sergeant Neil Cervenka.
Polarizing and often outspoken, conservative writer and pro-Trump advocate Ann Coulter will be the special guest speaker for this year’s annual Lincoln Day Dinner put on by the Republican Party of Stanislaus County. Notable for the recent controversy that initially saw her speaking event cancelled at University of California, Berkeley, the home of the free speech movement, Coulter is set to speak at the Lincoln Day Dinner only a day after the initial UC Berkeley event.

Turlock and the surrounding area are currently experiencing another widespread and long-lasting outage of Charter services. This outage is not statewide, however, it is regional. Video, internet, and phone services have been impacted in the outage. There is currently no timetable for when services will be returned. Services have been down since approximately 1:30 p.m.
Charter customers are dealing with an outage affecting multiple areas in the Central Valley, and reportedly throughout California. Charter representatives have indicated that there have been outages affecting the Turlock area.
Congressman Jeff Denham will make a town hall appearance, in person, after three months since President Donald Trump was sworn into office. Local elected leaders of the community will be heading to the Larsa Banquet Hall for the Government Night Town Hall.
Turlock police officers have responded to Columbia Avenue and taped off a crime scene. At around 7 p.m., the Turlock Police Department responded to the 800 block of Columbia Avenue for a call of an assault with a deadly weapon.

Turlock police responded to a robbery call, while also getting a report about an officer being shot. This morning, the Turlock Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred at the CVS located on Geer Road.
All parties involved in a three vehicle collision on Golden State Boulevard, that occurred Wednesday morning, are believed to be in stable condition. “The exact circumstances of the collision are still under investigation at this time,” reported Turlock Police Department spokesman officer Steve Rodrigues. “All parties who were involved in this traffic collision are believed to be in stable condition.”
