Turlock Rotary Club Looking to Build Bocce Ball Courts at Crane Park

Proposed bocce ball court locations at Crane Park.Crane Park has long been a community gathering point in Turlock due to its central location, basketball courts, playgrounds, tennis courts, picnic tables, and a horseshoe pit. Although the park already holds various recreation activities, the Rotary Club of Turlock has set aside funding to build two Bocce Ball courts at the park.

Rotary Club members have attended previous Parks and Recreation & Community Programs Commission Meetings in order to inform the Commission Members of possible locations, Bocce Ball rules and regulations. etc. for approval. At the last meeting, Commission members voted unanimously to approve two possible areas for the Bocce Ball court, and agreed to send out public notices to Crane Park neighbors to inform them of the changes to be made. The notice also invited the adjacent property owners to a public meeting regarding which location would be most desirable.

The City of Turlock is requesting the comments/input from nearby property owners who may be affected by the project, in order to receive their opinion on which location adjacent neighbors might find preferable.

In addition to the Bocce Ball courts that will be put in place, other on-site improvements include additional benches and signage listing the rules of the game.

The City of Turlock will be holding a public forum on July 11th for community members to express any comments and concerns. The meeting will be held at Crane Park, located at 1555 Canal Dr., at 6pm.

If you are unable to attend the meeting and have any questions or concerns, please submit them in writing to City of Turlock, Attn: Carla McLaughlin, 144 S. Broadway, Turlock CA 95380 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
