The mission of the Turlock Mayor's Prayer Breakfast mirrors that of the National Day of Prayer Task Force which is to mobilize prayer in America and to encourage personal repentance and righteousness in the culture.
This year, the event is excited to welcome internationally-known author, speaker, and inventor Steve Saint, as the keynote speaker for the 19th annual event to
In 1956, when Steve Saint was only 5 years old, his missionary/pilot father was brutally speared multiple times and hacked to death with machetes by a tribe of Ecuadorian Indians. But in a story almost too amazing to be true, Steve came to know, forgive, and even love the very men who had driven the spears into his father’s body.
“I have personally paid a high price for what happened but I have also had a front row seat as the rest of the story has been unfolding for half a century,” says Saint. “I believe only God could have fashioned such an incredible story from such a tragic event.”
Today, Steve leads I-TEC, an organization focused on enabling churches in frontier areas to overcome the technological and educational hurdles that stand in the way of their independence. His passion as a missionary, pilot, and inventor has led to his development of the “Maverick,” an easy-to-operate air, land, water, and snow craft, perfect for use in missions and humanitarian applications.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students and are available online at www.TurlockPrayerBreakfast.com and at Geiger’s Fine Jewelers, Hilmar Cheese, Canal Veterinary Hospital, Postal Center USA and The Salvation Army, Turlock.
