As an annual fundraiser, the Bell Real Estate Cycling Team is continued their effort to purchase 50 new bicycles for less fortunate children in Turlock. Bell Real Estate Cycling Team concluded its “Eat Cupcakes Kids Get Bikes” drive last week and is now asking for help from the Turlock community for its Bikes for Kids GoFundMe drive to complete the team’s goal of raising $10,000 and purchasing 50 or more new bicycles for less fortunate children in Turlock via the Turlock Salvation Army.
Due to the Turlock High School Modernization Project, The Turlock High School Drama Department doesn’t have a home stage this school year. Throughout the year the Performing Arts building on campus is under construction — but the show must go on!
Operation Blue Santa is returning to Turlock to accept donations for those in need. Turlockers have several opportunities to run into Blue Santa. He’ll be present at the Downtown Festival of Lights, the Christmas Parade and after-school programs. Blue Santa will also show up to the Turlock Together: Charities Event at Walmart in addition to touring the Turlock community throughout the month of December.
The Turlock Library will have an excellent selection of free activities in the month of November. On Nov. 12 at 6 p.m., World War II veteran James Sanders will recount his incredible experiences as a 19-year-old with the 585th Ambulance Company. If you’re interested in hearing his stories, it is advised you call ahead to reserve a seat by calling 209-664-8100. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Tickets for the 2014 Harvest Bowl between the Pitman High Pride and the Turlock High Bulldogs are still for sale — but are going fast. The Harvest Bowl sells out every year, and it’s important to get your tickets quickly, as tickets will not be available at the door.
Western Valley Insurance of Turlock is sponsoring a Field Goal fundraiser to benefit the Pitman High and Turlock High Booster Clubs. Contestants will have the chance to make a 40-yard field goal to win a whopping $5,000 either before kickoff or at halftime of this year’s Harvest Bowl on Nov. 7.
