Turlock will once again celebrate Independence Day with the annual 4th of July Fireworks Show hosted by California State University, Stanislaus. Last year, Turlock and the surrounding region came together to celebrate Independence Day and to enjoy the much anticipated annual fireworks show’s return to the Stan State location, instead of the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds show.
Downtown Turlock craft store, Emporium, is opening their doors to everyone for a fun craft making class. For two hours, participants will learn to create their own patina initial for decor using Modern Master Metal Effects.
This year’s 4th of July in Turlock is going to be a blast with a full day of entertainment and festivities in Downtown Turlock, while the nighttime fireworks show will take place at the campus of California State University, Stanislaus!
With funding dwindling for art programs nationwide, Carnegie Arts Center has decided to do the opposite and encourage kids from kindergarten to eighth grade to participate in the Second Annual Youth Art Exhibition: “Ready, Set, Show!” The talented youth of Turlock are now having their art showcased at the Carnegie Arts Center.

Stanislaus County Fair officials have been notified that Salt-N-Pepa, an all girl R&B singing group, has cancelled their performance, which was scheduled for Monday, July 11, 2016, due to medical reasons. “We are still very excited to have the Commodores replacing them. They are a great band, whose music still lives on.” 
National Night Out is just around the corner, and for those who plan on halting traffic on their street to hold a block party, the July 19 deadline to submit the street closure application is drawing near. National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for local anti-crime efforts, and strengthen neighborhood spirit and community-police partnerships.
