Kelly Wilbur was born and raised in the Central Valley. She has been writing blogs and short stories since a young age, and has had aspirations for a career in writing and journalism dating back to the age of 15.

She recently graduated CSU Stanislaus with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and hopes to use her writing to help inform the public.

She is a lover of proper syntax and correct grammar, with English as one of her favorite subjects in school.

In her spare time, Kelly maintains a blog and works to maintain a healthy lifestyle while encouraging others to value the uniqueness of every individual.

She also has experience using Adobe programs such as InDesign and Photoshop, and prides herself in being right-brained.
San Francisco 49ers quarterback and Turlock native, Colin Kaepernick, has taken to Instagram after hearing of the killing of a man outside of a Louisiana convenience store. On Tuesday, July 5, around 12:35 a.m., Baton Rouge Police Department responded to a disturbance call from a person claiming to be threatened with a gun by a black man selling CD’s.
Children and adults alike have always been able to choose from a variety of fun features offered at the Stanislaus County Fair. With so many options already available at the local festivities, decisions may get a little tougher with 3 new activities being added to the list this year. The Stanislaus County Fair is introducing the interactive Gaming Expo, the spectacular High Diving Pirates of the Caribbean, and the adorably entertaining Pig Races to run for the duration of the fair.
With summer in full swing, local events are starting to kick off, and Embellish Salon is excited to share a special celebration with all of Turlock. Embellish Salon has been around since 2011, and they are inviting all Turlock residents for a fun summer street fair in front of the salon.
There is a free electronic waste recycling event happening in Turlock. The United States Kids Chamber of Commerce is inviting residents to this event to turn in old cell phones, computers, or other forms of electronics that aren’t being used anymore.

Emporium Craft Event in Downtown Turlock

Downtown Turlock craft store, Emporium, is opening their doors to everyone for a fun craft making class. For two hours, participants will learn to create their own patina initial for decor using Modern Master Metal Effects.
With the severity of the drought still so prominent, the City of Turlock is looking to reward residents for saving their water.
With summer just around the corner, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5059 is providing the perfect family friendly environment to beat the heat, support Veterans, and to enjoy some good food and good “stuff.”
