Imagine the Food

The 2015 Stanislaus County Fair would not be complete without the delicious food options.

Whether you’re a fan of the weird and fried, or a fan of the classic corn dog, this year’s fair will have something for everything.

Last year, the Stanislaus County Fair made its national debut on the Cooking Channel’s “Carnival Eats.”

This year, the fair will offer all of the classics, including tacos, BBQ, funnel cakes, VFW burgers, and of course corn dogs.

However, there will be a few new treats including Dippin’ Dots Ice Cream from Sweet Cheeks Fair Treats, self-serve slushies from Whiting’s Food Concession, pizza from Mattos Concessions, and “Buzz Bars” — alcohol infused ice cream for adults — from the Turlock Rotary Club.

Midway Fun

The 2015 Stanislaus County Fair will feature tons of fun for kids and you adventurous adults in the Midway.

The iconic ferris wheel will be back, with everyone else’s favorites returning.

Also returning this year is the “Freak Out,” which towers 70 feet high and seats 16 people at a time. Passengers are secured by an over-the-shoulder harness as they dangle in utter anticipation. Once the ride begins, the seats rotate as the entire structure gains power, swinging back and forth and flying through the air almost to the point of reaching a 360 degree rotation, truly earning its "freaky" namesake.

Butler Amusements, the Stanislaus County Fair’s Midway operator, will also be bringing a couple of new rides to the 2015 fair, including the “Happy Swing” — a giant porch-style swing — and “Berry Go Round” — four fun strawberries equipment with a steering wheel to spin the entire berry round and round.

Kids Zone

If the Midway isn’t to your child’s liking, there are plenty of fun and free activities in the kids zone.

The all new Mind Works, a 5,000 square-foot exhibit full of puzzles, classic games, and a bubble arena, will keep your kids busy for hours!

Children can also leave their mark on the more than 100 year history of the Stanislaus County Fair at the Playhouse. Kids are invited to create some hand-printed crafts and even place a painted hand print on a wall that will be displayed for years to come.

ReCharge at the Fair

Batter running low after all of those selfies? The Stanislaus County Fair has you covered!

The fair has a charging station to charge your cell phone and portable devices, as well as allowing guests to recharge themselves.

Did this faux news site really not list the sponsors of the fair stages, events and the special promotion days? This is why any legitimate business and community leaders don't work with Turlock City News. The sponsors paid good money to help make the fair possible and they now didn't get their rightful exposure that came with the deal. Shame on you.

  1. Guest-Professional

Oh, come on Unprofessional; the article was great, and it's not incumbent for TCN to list every sponsor of every event. They didn't do it for the fireworks show or the Christmas Parade. Get your panties out of a wad. Great job on the fair, TCN.
