Those with an interest in teaching, take note: California State University, Stanislaus will host its 18th annual Transition From Student to Teacher Conference on March 8.

The annual conference has contributed to the preparation and professional development of over 3,000 new and prospective teachers since its inception, CSU Stanislaus says.

The conference will consist of a variety of professional workshops. Information will also be available on teacher credentialing and continuing teacher education.

The workshops will cover a broad array of topics, including first-year teaching experiences, creative and technology-based teaching solutions, classroom management strategies, reading and writing under Common Core, and more.

There will also be an opportunity to network and exchange ideas with local teaching and education professionals.

CSU Stanislaus President Joseph F. Sheley will deliver opening remarks, and Dan Salles-Trevethan, Assistant Superintendent of Education Services for Turlock Unified School District, will deliver a keynote address.

The conference is open to anyone with an interest in teacher education, including prospective, new or substitute teachers and teaching credential candidates.

The conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 8 in the CSU Stanislaus Main Dining Hall.

Registration for the conference is $30 and includes a light breakfast, lunch, tote bag, white board, conference materials and access to the workshops.

The deadline to register is Friday.
