  • IRS Scam Continues as Tax Season Passes
IRS Scam Continues as Tax Season Passes The Turlock Police Department is warning Turlockers of an ongoing scam involving suspects posing as Internal Revenue Services agents. Turlock police originally warned Turlockers of the scam in March, after receiving a report of fraud on Feb. 28. At that time, a victim was told that he was behind on his taxes and he needed to wire transfer a set amount of money to an account given by the scammer, or face jail time. On Thursday, the Turlock Police Department announced that “officers have taken an alarming amount of fraud reports involving subjects posing as IRS agents who have defrauded victims of thousands of dollars.”
